Keuka College’s annual celebration of area veterans will look a little different this year.
Instead of the traditional ceremony in Norton Chapel, local veterans will be lauded during a Campus Drive-Through Honor Parade. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 12:30 p.m. and will last approximately 15 minutes.
The community is invited to join students, faculty, and staff in honoring area veterans during this year's Honor Parade.
“America’s veterans deserve our gratitude and esteem for all they have done over the decades to secure and protect the freedoms we hold dear,” said President Amy Story in a statement to the College Community unveiling plans for the event. “I’m happy to announce that we will again be honoring area veterans on campus this Veterans Day.”
Keuka College students, staff, and faculty are invited to line the streets of campus along the Honor Route (Central Avenue from the RAC to North Avenue to Lake Avenue) and to create posters or signs to share as the veterans drive by

The customary post-celebration dinner has also been revised. The College’s catering service, AVI, is once again donating dinners for veterans, but they’ll be prepared to be taken home, as opposed to previous meals in the Geiser Dining Commons.
In a related decision, the College has revised its parking policies regarding service members. Parking fees will no longer be required from veterans or active military service members living on campus. The College will also establish designated parking spaces for wounded combat veterans.
“These policies are intended to show the College’s appreciation for the dedication and valor of the active and veteran service members among our students,” said President Storey.
